About Me
I am Melissa Amato!
During the many years I spent in the fashion industry as the owner of multiple clothing stores, I spent a significant amount of time working and living in Santa Monica, California. This time spent in California had a significant impact on my life creating a newfound passion for health and wellness. Soon after I was introduced to the Californian lifestyle, I found myself running to yoga classes before and after work when I was back on the east coast. As I became more aware of my growing passion for yoga and living a healthy lifestyle, I decided to make a life-altering decision. I traded my life in the fast-paced fashion world for a more calming, slow-paced, self-discovery life in the world of yoga and a healthy lifestyle.
I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

My education and life experiences have equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I created Wellness with Missy as a creative outlet to share my love of health and wellness. I intend to inspire others to make lifestyle changes to live a happier and healthier lifestyle, to develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

My Vegan Journey
May all beings everywhere be happy and free 🐷One of the many reason I am vegan 🌱
🌱My vegan journey started years ago when I was in yoga teacher training. At the end of our daily yoga practice we would chant in Sanskrit ,Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Which means
May all beings everywhere be happy and free. May all my thoughts, words and actions contribute to the happiness and freedom for all.
🌱For me I didn’t become vegan overnight. It was a process. It started with my love of animals, nature, studying plant based nutrition and from my biggest teacher miss peanut 🐶
🌱I believe being vegan isn’t just about what you eat, it is a lifestyle.
🌱Where every you may be on your vegan journey I encourage you to keep moving forward or to give to try. Small daily action steps lead to big lifestyle changes. We all start somewhere.
🌱I started Wellness with Missy to share my love of plant based foods, living a healthy vegan lifestyle and to show how eating vegan doesn’t have to be complicated or boring.

🌱Living a healthy vegan lifestyle is one of the best decisions I ever made and has truly changed my life for the better in so many ways. I feel a lot happier, healthier, lighter, and brighter.
